We tried to make our wedding as homemade as possible. It was held in a tiny church and then at home. We excelled and everyone played a part:
My sister in law grew the flowers and created her own cutting garden
My brother planed the wood for the centrepiece banquet tables
My dad made the banquet tables from scratch
We collected 88 chairs and hired the rest
Our lovely vicar was a relative
The catering was by Home Gurrown who grew the ingredients in Kent
My mum, my fiancé and my family-in-law kept me sane!
That was only half of it! Everyone pulled together and it was the most amazing day.
Our colourful, ornate & floral wedding invitations was the one of the best things I've ever made!
Hand painted with watercolours & acrylics, scanned in and then arranged in Photoshop. We hand stamped some of the elements (our names on the invitation, the RSVP & our return address) as we loved the grainy handmade look they made.
The floral border on the invitation was as bright as the wedding, and we used the design throughout the whole set to tie everything together.
My favourite part are the little quotes printed on the booklet and on the reverse of the order of service.
The bespoke invitations follow a complimentary navy and pink colour theme to match the wedding design and features a delicate monogram.
Painted with watercolour, the monogram is illustrated and classic so it could be used throughout the wedding stationery.
I love how you can see the different blue tones in the leaves!
I love this quote!
The wreath is a sketch from my notebook which I turned into a print and placed the handwritten quote within.
At college I always loved creating the sketchbook which accompanied a final project rather than the finished piece itself, so it was fate when I discovered my university course – Book Art and Design.
Scribbling, painting and sketching into a sketchbook is one of my favourite things, it starts of as a mess but eventually turns into something, here are a few pages..
This print is a mix of watercolour and digital, the mockingbird within was hand drawn and painted with watercolour, the background and leaves are all digitally drawn.
Fun fact: The print was commissioned to feature in a TV set.
During my Book Art university course, I fell in love with lino and created a book which was lino printed and stamped with a poem running throughout it.
The pages featured illustrations inspired from the poem ‘I carry your heart’.
Everytime I see this project it makes me want to run home and start lino printing!
The kraft paper and floral wreath design work so perfectly together! The wreath design takes centre stage on the invitation with rich green leaves and brightly coloured spring flowers.
The wedding was very homemade and took place in a huge tipi in the countryside so the invite could be as relaxed and floral as possible. The illustrated tipis are my favourite!
Freelance commission for a wedding greeting card.
The design uses layers of illustrated roses with a fun decorative font!
A floral commision print for a wedding present.
This design was hand drawn with pen and scanned in to turn the design to natural green tones.
This print is a mix of watercolour and digital, the gorgeous quote was placed with a decorative border with leaves and roses - my all time favourite!
A little design painted for my lovely mother! How very true - 'If i know what love is it is because of you.'
